EXCLUSIVE VIDEO: David Oyelowo Shares Footage from Captive

Ashley Smith's compelling true story is one of survival and faith. She was a drug addicted, single mom when fugitive Brian Nichols escaped police custody and held her hostage in her Atlanta home in 2005. What happened during those crucial hours forever changed her life and his. Their powerful, hopeful story will no doubt affect moviegoers as they see the events of that night played out in Paramount Pictures' new movie, Captive, which hits theaters on September 18, 2015.

David Oyelowo, who plays Brian Nichols alongside actress Kate Mara (as Ashley), also co-produced the film.

"It's all about redemption," Oyelowo says. "That's the thing that really struck me about this story when I first happened upon it is the fact that, look, you have this meth addict and you have a murderer holed up together, and there should be no good that comes out of that. But as it says in [Romans 5:20], 'Where sin abounds, grace abounds all the more.'"
