OB & Billy Graham Partner in Disaster Response Training
God wants the Church to work together in harmony to build the Kingdom. The Scripture tells us:
How good and pleasant it is when brothers live together in unity! For there the LORD bestows his blessing, even life forevermore. (Psalm 133:1, 3b, NIV)
Three major ministries are demonstrating this kind of unity by combining to equip Christians to reach out with the love of Jesus in times of crisis. Operation Blessing has partnered with the Billy Graham Rapid Response Team and Regent University to conduct the Sharing Hope in Crisis training seminar, June 26th, 2010 in Virginia Beach, VA.
The purpose of this seminar is to equip believers to confidently respond with the love of Christ in appropriate ways to those who are either going through or have experienced crisis in their life. This dynamic seminar is designed for anyone who works with people, participates in missions, home groups, youth, first responders, medical and caring professions, leadership positions of influence/caring and those who simply love God and want to help others.
Speakers will include:
Jack Munday, Director, Billy Graham Rapid Response Team;
Mike Beresford, Managing Director, Billy Graham Rapid Response Team;
Jody Herrington, Director, U.S. Disaster Relief, Operation Blessing; and

Here is a letter from Jody Herrington, the Director of U.S. Disaster Relief for Operation Blessing:
I would like to personally invite you to join us for this life-changing seminar. It will be one of the most powerful and enlightening seminars you have ever been through. As many of you know, I have the honor of serving as the Director of U.S. Disaster Relief for Operation Blessing International; which means I see tragedy and people in crisis in unprecedented numbers, many times on a daily basis.
I have become great friends with Jack Munday, Director of the Billy Graham Rapid Response Team (RRT). Not only are we great friends, we are great partners. Jack invited me to a similar seminar when they hosted it in San Juan Capistrano, CA. I accepted their invitation because I wanted to learn how to minister more effectively to people in crisis and better understand how trauma affects people. It changed my life, to the point that we asked Jack Munday to come in on an annual basis to work with both our International & U.S. Disaster Relief Teams. I continually use the information and knowledge I gained during the Billy Graham RRT seminar!Every one of us has experienced trauma or knows of others who have experienced trauma in their everyday lives whether in a disaster or not. We are opening up this invaluable training to the CBN/Operation Blessing Staff, Regent Student Body and churches in the Greater Hampton Roads Area. Please take advantage of this incredible opportunity. I promise you will not regret it and will use the principles you learn in your everyday life. Whether you experience a catastrophic disaster, volunteer during disasters, help your neighbor walk through the traumas of life or walk through painful times yourself, this training will arm you with the knowledge, tools and understanding to help others and yourself “walk through” the tragedies of life with more healing and victory than ever before! You will learn how to “Share His Hope in Crisis!”
Sincerely,
Jody L. Herrington
Director, U.S. Disaster Relief
Operation Blessing International
