Chris Matthews May Be a Prophet

MSNBC's Chris Matthews thinks the GOP is going to nominate Rand Paul as their presidential nominee in 2016. He may be right.

Don't blow him off because he's a liberal on MSNBC. Some keen insight below.

You can definitely make the argument as to why Paul will be the nominee. There are plenty of potholes ahead and the GOP neo-cons are out to get him but the political climate (wiretapping, privacy encroachment, libertarianism increasing, federal deficit) is setting up nicely for him if he plays his cards right.

Of course Matthews clearly thinks this will be a hard right turn. That's actually not true. Paul can attract more moderates because of his views on privacy and foreign policy.
